At the church I serve, New North Church, we’ve been studying Paul’s letter to the church in Colossae. And I have to tell you, it’s been so good for me personally to immerse myself in this book of the Bible. Not only have a learned a ton, but I’ve been greatly encouraged in my faith.
Here are a few good things I wanted to pass along to you and I hope they bless you today:
- Whatever you are going through, however chaotic your life seems, it doesn’t matter how out of control you feel and think things are, Jesus reigns supreme. He is both creator and sustainer of all things, that includes everything you are going through! (Colossians 1:15-23)
- Jesus is the head of the church. He is the leader and source of life for the church. Pastors and churches will disappoint you but Jesus never will! (Colossians 1:15-23)

- When you are in Christ, you have everything you need! (Colossians 2:6-15)
- Your old life is gone and you are Brand New! (Colossians 2:6-15)
- Colossians overwhelmingly declares that Jesus Christ has already accomplished for YOU everything YOU might attempt to earn by YOUR own pathetic efforts! (Colossians 2:16-23)
- In Christ, you are free from old religious rules and legalistic people. So work FROM your Father’s approval not FOR it. (Colossians 2:16-23)
- You new life in Christ will transform your home. (Colossians 3:18-4:1)
